The Center opens from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Children's rest periods are 1½ hours per day. Outdoor play and exercise is provided daily. Your children are served breakfast, lunch and a P.M. snack... SPECIAL PROGRAMS and TRIPS are also provided.

Parents Teachers Conferences are held twice per year.
(P.A.C.) Parents Advisory Committee election of officers are held once per year.
The P.A.C. meets once per month on the 4th Thursday of each month to discuss: Special events, extracurricular activities and child development/education. All parents are welcome to attend.

TO INTRODUCE STUDENTS TO MUSIC, COOKING, ARTS AND CRAFTS, SEWING, DRAMA, CAREER AWARENESS AND MULTI-CULTURAL ACTIVITIES. ADDRESS THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE GROWTH OF THE GROUP, AS WELL AS THE GROWTH OF THE FAMILIES.


SCHOOL-AGE CHILDREN AGES 5-12 YEARS OLD GRADES 1-6

SOCIAL VALUES: Encourage a giving and sharing concept reinforcement in the community and the environment.

HEALTH AND NUTRITION: Introduction of nutrition and the body as it relates to the need for good health and nutritious practices.

PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT: Encourage sports and games as well as other physical activities through music and movements.

ACADEMIC GROWTH:To encourage enthusiasm for practical use of math and reading as well as to provide experience that will strengthen, remediate and expand skills already acquired.

CREATIVITY: To provide opportunity for creating and to be creative through arts and crafts, wood working, sewing, drama and multi-cultural activities.

OUR GOALS AND PHILOSOPHY

Urban Strategies Day Care #2’s ultimate goal is to provide a quality education and support program to each child enrolled in our center. Our program will be one that is totally committed to the developmental progress, enhancement and stimulation of the child’s learning process.

Our aim is to meet each child on his/her level and to provide developmentally appropriate experiences in a comfortable, safe and enriched environment. In this type of environment, each child may progress at his/her own distinctive rate to the next level of development.

The children will be provided with opportunities for physical development through our Lots for Tots Playground and the Gym.

PRE-SCHOOL

The aim of the program is:
1. To help the child develop self- pride and independence.
2. To strengthen their large and small muscles and coordination.
3. To foster and develop intellectual skills, social and cultural awareness.


DAILY PROGRAM

1. The center opens at 8:00 AM and close at 6:00 PM.
2. Children have a rest period of one and a half hour per day.
3. Outdoor play and exercise are provided daily.
4. Children are served Breakfast, Lunch and a P.M. snack.
5. Special programs and trips are provided.
6. Parent-Teacher conferences are held twice per year.

UNIVERSAL PRE-KINDERGARTEN

The Universal Pre-k program, sponsored by the Board of Education
is developed to provide a learning environment for children four years old within the current year.

SCHOOL AGE PROGRAM

The overall goals and curriculum activities introduce children to Music, cooking, arts, sewing, drama, career awareness and Multi-cultural activities.

(a) Social Values: Encouragement and sharing values are provided.
(b) Health and Nutrition: Introduction to the need of nutritional foods and exercise.
(c) Physical Development: Sports and Games.
(d) Academic Growth: Encourage enthusiasm for the practical use of Reading and Math.

PROGRAM OBLIGATIONS and SERVICES:

On a daily basis, we pick up Students From P.S. 13 & P.S. 179.
