ABOUT HSE & TASC

New York State has selected a new High School Equivalency (HSE) test called the Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) to replace the General Education Development (GED) as the primary pathway to a High School Equivalency diploma effective January 2, 2014.

The test is available to adults who did not graduate from high school, or whose diploma may not be recognized by New York State. Since 1991, Urban Strategies, Inc. has contracted with the NYC Department of Education to provide educational development programs and services to the community.
